  • Position Overview
    Baughman Kroup Bosse (BKB) is always seeking full time Senior Paralegals with 3+ years of litigation experience. A bachelor’s degree and/or paralegal certificate from an accredited American Bar Association (ABA) approved program is required. Candidates should possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong organizational proficiency with meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with attorneys, clients, and external stakeholders. The role is in-person and requires a commitment to a five-day work week (9:00 am – 6:00 pm). Overtime may be necessary based on demand and client needs.

    Requirements

    • Thorough working knowledge of trial preparation, legal research, and case management through all stages of the litigation life cycle.

    • Proficiency in legal research tools including Westlaw and/or LexisNexis.

    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

    • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

    • Ability to travel as needed for trials and other firm commitments/activities.

    • While performing duties of this job, the employee may be required to sit, use hands, reach with hands and arms, lift heavy items (up to 20 lbs.), stoop, talk, and hear.

    Qualifications

    • Education

      • Bachelor's degree and/or paralegal certificate from an accredited ABA-approved program.

      • 3+ years of complex litigation experience.

      • Extensive experience filing documents in State and Federal Court.

      • Experience with e-discovery platforms and document management systems.

      • Familiarity with court rules and procedures in Federal and State jurisdictions.

An active bar license, a Juris Doctor or equivalent degree, and excellent academic credentials are required. Candidates should possess strong written and verbal communication skills, along with demonstrated organizational proficiency and meticulous attention to detail. Attorneys will represent clients in legal proceedings, draft legal documents, and provide legal advice. An associate role at BKB involves extensive research, case preparation, and advocacy. The role is full time and in-person at either our New York or Virginia office.

    Requirements

    • Independently manage a litigation caseload; work on matters from pleadings through to trial, representing clients in court and at related legal proceedings.

    • Regularly handle court appearances and attend depositions.

    • Ability to travel as needed for trials and other firm commitments/activities.

    • Strong analytical writing skills.

    • Employees should expect and want to appear in court hearings and arbitrations.

A master’s degree is preferred but a bachelor’s degree will be considered. Candidates should possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with strong organizational proficiency and meticulous attention to detail. The role’s primary function is to assist the BKB attorneys, researching all aspects of the cases; digging deep and demonstrating a willingness to function effectively amongst the weeds. The role is in-person and requires a commitment to a five-day work week (9:00 am – 6:00 pm). Overtime may be necessary based on demand and client needs.

    • Solid research skills and a willingness to tackle complex technical material from a wide range of industry sectors.

  • We offer summer internships, both for undergraduate college students and law school students (2nd to 3rd year). Internship opportunities are available in both the Norfolk and New York office locations. No previous legal experience is required. We are looking for people with strong academics and an interest in litigation. Interns will get exposure to trials and the trial process. Interested candidates should submit a resume and cover letter. Law clerk applications should also include a law school transcript and writing sample.

    Internship applications for Summer 2026 should be submitted between September 1st, 2025, and January 31st, 2026. Interviews will be held during February 2026, with final decisions announced on March 15th, 2026.
