Maryia Jones is a Partner at Baughman Kroup Bosse. She is a skilled first-chair trial lawyer and commercial litigator with over fifteen years of experience representing consumer-facing companies in highly regulated industries, including decentralized and traditional finance.  Maryia is a strategic thinker with practical, creative approaches that prioritize her clients' goals.  She has significant experience defending clients nationwide in mass arbitrations and class actions brought under federal and state consumer protection and data privacy laws.  She also handles business and employment disputes, products liability lawsuits, and other complex matters. Maryia has successfully prosecuted and defended jury and bench trials in federal and state courts. At the appellate level, Maryia has obtained victories for her clients in the Virginia Supreme Court and the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals. Maryia has served as a court-appointed special advocate for abused and neglected children in Virginia Beach and volunteered at the Virginia Beach Animal Care and Adoption Center.

    • Obtained a federal jury verdict against a former executive of an oil company for misappropriation of trade secrets, including an award of punitive damages.

    • In a case of first impression, obtained an important ruling in the client’s favor on the valuation of partnership assets in a complex business dispute.

    • Defeated claims brought against an international food manufacturer by its former executive arising from a stock options dispute.

    • Secured an arbitration award for a digital assets platform against its former chief executive, including an award of attorney’s fees.
